The most common reason is time on the job. Starting somewhere three weeks ago is the single thing most likely to get an application refused, no matter what your credit looks like, because the lot is betting on your next twenty-four months of paychecks rather than your past.
An open repossession is the other reliable stopper. Not a settled one, not a bankruptcy that's been discharged — an active one, where somebody is still trying to collect. It tells the lot the last business that financed you didn't get paid.
After that: not enough verifiable income for the payment, no valid driver's licence, an address they can't confirm, references nobody can reach, or no down payment at all.
What almost never causes a refusal is a credit score. There's no lender to satisfy, so the number itself isn't the decision.
